- Summary
-
- "Mary Minor "Harry" Haristeen and her friends and animal companions pursue the threads of a mystery dating back to Virginia's post-Revolutionary past, when their 18th-century predecessors struggled with the challenges of the fledgling country. In the present day, Harry's new friendship with Marvella Lawson, doyenne of the Richmond art world, leads her to rediscover her own creative passions--and reveals evidence of an all too contemporary crime"--
- With the New Year just around the corner, the Blue Ridge Mountain community of Crozet, Virginia, is like a living snow globe. Mary Minor "Harry" Haristeen is building a new work shed designed by local architect Gary Gardner. When Gary is shot to death by a masked motorcyclist, Harry begins to burrow into her friend's past-- and unearths a pattern of destructive greed reaching far back into Virginia's post-Revolutionary history. The clues lead to a construction site in Richmond, where the discovery of ancient remains has recently halted work. -- adapted from jacket
