Summary
"Sammy and Chocolate (pet dog) live between a marsh and the sea. The two friends wait eagerly until dusk...to go frogging! They've never caught one yet, but they're sure that tonight is the night! The chorus of croaks lead them to the pond, but try as they might, Sammy and Chocolate can't find any frogs at all. Eventually, they give up and lie down. And just as they're enjoying the frog-song and drifting into "frogness"-- the frogs come out flying! But zzlip! And splash! The frogs are too fast and slippery for Sammy and Chocolate to catch! Finally, "hunt happy and bone weary," all they can do is sit with toes dipped into the marsh, listening to frog-song in the dusk until their mother calls. The book ends with a note from the author about the variety of frog species and their frog-song."--, Provided by publisher
